showing in Les Dessinatrices

A wonderful exhibition opened at Espionage Gallery last Thursday which I am honored and very excited to be a part of, titled 'Les Dessinatrices', (international all-female illustration exhibition) They have already sold two framed editions of my A3 sized print With You I Can Be Myself, which I framed in a nice thin wooden frame. The show is on for another week, so local visitors still have some time!

'With You I Can Be Myself' - new print

I have a new print in store just in time for the opening of the 5 Day Print Sale today! Its called 'With You I Can Be Myself', representing the idea of finding someone you can completely be yourself with, like a trusted friend or companion. This is an illustration of Nadia, surrounded by her cats and carnations. It is available in both the A4 and A3 size. Oh and did any other Adelaideans feel the earthquake this morning?

prints and things

Oh dear me! I realize how busy a time it has been, when I see that its been a week since my last post. That is not good. In between finishing my Bachelor degree in Art History, co-directing a busy gallery and working a few other odd jobs/gigs around the place I have no time to update my little blog. Anyway, I'd like to remind all you lovely followers to also like my artist page on facebook, where I frequently do little giveaways. Yesterday I sent a sticker pack to the first person to like the update, and will do another one next week! In other news, my etsy sale is coming to a close shortly, so be sure to pay the shop a visit. There are new goodies, two in fact! On monday I printed up large, A3 sized prints of Oola and Loola, and I Dream of Triangles. They look great this large, I think I will do A3 prints of all the currently listed illustrations. What do you think?

A brand new print and other delights

I have a new print in store! Its called We'll Stay Friends No Matter What Happens. Its available in both an A4 and A3 size, and is printed on super soft eco-linen stock. It is possibly one of my favourites and I can't wait to have it at the next Espionage markets. Hope you like it!

Espionage Art Markets and Long Arms

The Espionage Art Market last night was a tremendous success which brings me much joy and relief. As the organizer of the event I felt the pressure of making sure enough people know about the markets to come up, browse and enjoy themselves. There definitely were enough people, and at times the space was packed out so I would certainly declare this a success! I unleashed a couple of new prints on the good people of Adelaide, by the likes of Mr. Shapiro and An Offering. In addition, my newest postcard, The Little Mooki Lovecard was also a success. Now I am super inspired to make more goodies for the next markets, which will take place on the 14th of October!

spontaneous arting

In the flurry of a creative spell, last night I created a most peculiar piece. I'm not sure what originally brought this thread of thought on, but the more I meditated on it the more I realized how much meaning there is in this piece. For me, it is inspired by the idea of energy being a visible force. Just think, if thoughts had colour, shape, sight, sound, smell - all these different sensory elements, then wouldn't we completely reconsider the way we life our lives? If beautiful, happy thoughts floated around us in the shape of pink and orange rosepetals, calling forth our most treasured memories and scents, would we not make the effort to think more positively throughout our day? .. well thats what I've been thinking about! And in this painting I represented this idea of positive thought as feathers floating through space. I think I will get a print made of this tomorrow. But I got excited and already put it up in my etsy shop under Birds of a Feather print.

new(s) this week

Yippie! I have finally finished my end of semester exams and major assignments + essays. I am so relieved and excited to have a little bit of time to relax. To celebrate I went to my favourite printing place in the city and got some more Chloe prints and Blue prints done on some beautiful enviro-linen stock. After this weekend I am also hoping to get some new prints made as well as show you some new original works I have been working on. Unfortunately, I killed my camera a few weeks ago (waterbottle in bag accident) and I have not yet found a replacement or purchased a new one. Instead, I've been shooting with my Diana F+. I will share some of those photos soon too.
