i spy..

through my fisheye, something...
plastic, blue and amazing!

Nicknamed ´The Blackbird´, used at waist heigh, creating two exposures from different points of view. I think it is a super-attractive product and that colour and design is to die for. My next lomography purchase will certainly be a fisheye lens, which I have dreamed about getting for many many years, and was not likely to be realized anytime soon.. until one of my bestest and most fantastic friends Kelly came to visit me in Hungary and surprised me with a Diana F+ lomography camera and two rolls of super saturated Fujicolour film. I have almost finished my first roll and was saving the second roll for my impending roadtrip with my boyfriend until I stumbled upon a really good 3 pack deal on ebay and purchased 3 rolls for $16 AUD, with the RRP being $10 each. So postage included I pretty much got 3 for the price of 2. Good enough for me!

So this is my baby right here, who I appropriately named .. well.. Diana.
This is no joke, mind you. I actually do "call" her by her name. For example some weeks ago I was pretty much out the door going to meet some friends when I realized I was missing my camera so I hollered "wait a second, I´ll just run back for Diana..!" Thats just how tight we are.

One thing I am concerned about is Diana´s health and safety, which is why I am seriously considering either investing in a padded camera case or making one myself. Today I discovered a pretty cute one, but it is around the fifty dollar mark which is a bit too spicy price for me right now. Keeping it in mind though. Maybe for Diana´s first birthday. But shhh.

memories

its so odd - i've been thinking so much about memories and the idea of loss and forgiveness and just the passing of time in general. so tonight when I stumbled on a journal featuring photos and quotes from people describing the time and place where that photo was taken, I was really touched and felt quite nostalgic. I also want to have the time of my life. I also want to be weightless, careless and free! I want to fly by the seat of my pants, wear the same Tshirt for a week and meet hundreds of people per week and touch all their lives in a weird, wonderful, tiny way. Here are a few of my favourite memories by other people.

"They were taken whilst i was living in LA in 1991. I was 21. I was totally broke all I had was my boyfriend, our amazing circle of friends and my Polaroid camera. It was one of the best times of my life."

"The photo is taken the summer of 2001 in my flat in Paris. It was one of these summers where everything was possible and anything could happen and it did..."

Oh and today somehow took a turn for the better in comparison to yesterday, which was God-awful to put it lightly. I guess getting things off my chest is really good therapy - I had a good friend of mine take me out to sushi (his shout) and then gelati (my shout) and have a really good, long chat about life, love and relationships. It was really great. Today I finished my last assignment for uni before the holidays (which officially start NOW! wooo) although I have a million things to do in the 'break', and there will be numerous days where I'll be cruising the campus as per usual. I'm aiming to design and get my website completed or atleast half-done by the end of these two weeks, as well as the 2 main commissions I'm working on and get some prints of my work arranged!

Tomorrow I have a shoot with a lovely little model, and then work at the gallery and then 1 gig and 2 parties to go to.. still don't know where I'll stay the night so we shall see how it all comes together.. goodnight for now.
xx

a fake flower is a flower nonetheless

Firstly, two things made my day today. The first was a lovely indie looking girl with pretty curly hair getting on the bus, then a busstop later her also indie looking, postman-hat wearing boyfriend got on and the way her eyes lit up upon seeing him, and how he smiled just warmed my heart something fuzzy. I miss my Bjoern every day and seeing other couples happy together, like ACTUALLY happy made me feel great. Like they valued their time together and nothing else mattered.

Secondly, Robin brought a whole pack of cookies to our digital art class to share and they are crunchy and crumbly and tasty. Delish. I best get back to my Dreamweaver tutorial now --
Im now doing research into beautiful photography (which i do anyway though now i finally have an excuse) because I have to take some photos ideal for roll-overs for a website which i am creating. so an online portfolio for my work. exciting stuff.

Now im really excited and motivated to do some more shoots in the holidays, get some of my lovely and obliging girlfriends to do some modelling for me :) im planning some...
~ splendid wallpapers
~retro dresses
~balloons
~ wind
~faceless shots.

Now I must write to my lovely Steph-friend who is in the mark of Dan whom i must question and quizzle about her experience. im excited.
